Reflecting on growth: APC students’ retreat and recollection

APC students took part in spiritual activities in March and January to foster self-reflection, gratitude, and a deeper connection with their faith and community.

During a retreat at the Jesuit Retreat House in Malaybalay City from 27 to 29 January, Grades 10 and 12 students joined took the opportunity to pause from their academic responsibilities and reflect on their personal growth, challenges, and aspirations. Guided by facilitators, the students engaged in prayer sessions, discussions on faith and identity, and quiet moments of contemplation. This experience aimed to strengthen their spiritual life and reinforce their commitment to be responsible members of their community.

On the first week of March, Grade 6 students gathered for a recollection at Balay Laudato Si’ in Bendum facilitated by Mercy Pakiwag, Thelma Compade, and Maura Lipanda. The recollection helped students understand themselves better and appreciate the importance of reflection in their journey of learning. The sessions focused on gratitude, forgiveness, and their role in serving their community. Through guided prayer, sharing, and reflective activities, the young students had the opportunity to deepen their faith and recognize the value of their education at APC.

These experiences help in ensuring that students not only develop academically but also grow spiritually and emotionally. The retreats and recollections serve as a foundation for building strong, reflective, and community-oriented individuals ready to face the challenges ahead with faith and resilience.
