APC shares Binisaya translations of bishops’ pastoral letters on pilgrimage of hope (Jubilee 2025), and care of creation and call to ecological conversion

In response to the call for greater accessibility and deeper engagement with the Church’s guidance and in collaboration with the River Above Asia Oceania Ecclesial Network (RAOEN), APC shares the Binisaya/Cebuano translation (unofficial) of the pastoral letters of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), May Pag-asa Pa Ba? (Is There Still Hope?), issued on 2 February 2025, and that of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conference (FABC), To the Local Churches in Asia on the Care of Creation: A Call to Ecological Conversion, issued on 15 March 2025.

APC is an institution rooted in indigenous education and ecological spirituality and supports efforts to bring important Church teachings closer to the people, particularly in a language the community understands.

The CBCP letter invites all to a Pilgrimage of Hope which is an opportunity for reflection, conversion, and collective action in the journey towards the Jubilee Year while the FABC letter makes the important message of calling for ecological conversion available in a local language.

This is also to invite those who know or have access to other unofficial translations in Philippine languages of these pastoral letters to share these with APC so that more communities across the country can reflect on these important messages of hope in their mother tongues.

APC believes that sharing these translations affirms the vital role of indigenous and local communities in responding to today’s ecological crisis with faith, action, and hope.
