ESSC hosts three YOS volunteers under the XU Peace Program
(October 2016)In collaboration with Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan, three young volunteers joined ESSC for 10 months from July 2016 to April 2017 to contribute to and learn from ESSC’s work activities in Mindanao.
JVP volunteers at APC’s junior high school
Through an ongoing partnership with ESSC, the Jesuit Volunteers Philippines (JVP) Foundation assigned two volunteers, Adelwina “Wen” Asuncion and Jed Angelo Marcelo, to join the teaching staff of the newly-opened junior high school at the Apu Palamguwan Cultural Education Center (APC) in Bendum, Bukidnon for School Year 2016-2017.
Higher Education in the Uplands (2015)
In collaboration with Jesuit Commons: Higher Education at the Margins (JC:HEM), we concluded a 3-month Online English course participated by different indigenous youth from various villages in UpperPulangi.
Seeking Sustainable Science (2013)

(13 Feb 2013) A group of professionals from Australia recently visited Bendum, exploring ways of assisting and supporting the emergence of Bendum as a center for ecology.
Learning Partnership with Ateneo de Davao University (2011)
(6 Jun 2011) Ateneo de Davao University furthers its partnership with APC this summer by holding an exploratory visit in Bendum with 17 of its faculty and staff. The visit had a multifaceted objective, looking at various areas of possible collaborative engagement in areas of culture-based education, renewable energy, hydrological instrumentation for watershed modeling, geomatics applications, and migration.
Jesuit Scholastics’ Social Apostolate Summer Program in Mindanao, Philippines (2009)
(9 Jul 2009) Loyola Heights is still quiet; the Scholastics are back from their summer work where they sought to develop further skills in social program implementation and management. These skills include meeting documentation, village water system manual development, sari-sari store bookkeeping, and project evaluation and reporting.
